The Watt Watchers program is designed for grades 5 and 6.

Watch out!

Kids take a fast track in the pursuit of energy savings!

Starting at the source, they learn how electricity is generated, measured and wasted. Students perform cost/benefit analysis on various lighting products to determine which are more cost effective. Then they're equipped with the information and tools they need, including light meters to examine electric power usage and make audit reports to help save electricity and money at their school. Math and science skills are put to the test while kids search for inefficient uses of electricity in the school. Previous Watt Watchers have helped their schools save thousands of dollars in energy costs. The successful techniques and tactics learned in this program have also allowed students to discover energy savings at home.

The program is presented in two school days for a group of approximately 25 students and one or two teachers.
