Recommended for grades 3 & 4
A full day of hands-on activities that introduce science concepts related to renewable energy. Students work cooperatively to understand how flowing water, wind and solar energy can be turned into electricity, how light from the sun can heat space and how recycling can save energy.
This program includes a Scavenger Hunt to find places renewable energy is used in the school and places it might be used. The scavenger hunt also includes finding out what materials are recycled by the school and what might be recycled. Information obtained in the Scavenger Hunt will be reported to the school's principal, so students' efforts may make a difference.
A one-day program for a group of up to 30 students and their teacher.
