Recommeded for grades 7-12

The focus is on electricity use in the school. Students learn how electricity is generated, measured and used. They learn about entropy and efficiency.
They compare different types of light bulbs and learn how to determine if motors are efficient.

A tour of the building identifies opportunities to save electricity. Students gather data on computers, overhead projectors, copiers, refrigerators, electric space heaters, motors and lighting. This information becomes the basis of a written report, which will be completed during the program. The report, intended for presentation to the school board, provides closure and insures that the students' work is effetive.

A three-day program for a group
of up to 25 students and their teacher.
